At the 69th British Academy Film Awards help at the London Royal Opera House yesterday the 14th of February ‘Titanic’ pair Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet won the Best Actor and the Best Supporting Actress awards respectively for the ‘The Revenant’ and ‘Steve Jobs’. Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu bagged the Best Director Award for ‘The Revenant’ which also was adjudged the Best Film.
The other notable winners Brie Larson – Best Actress (Room), Mark Rylance – Best Supporting Actor( Bridge of Spies), Tom McCarthy and Josh Singer - Best Original Screenplay (Spotlight), Adam Mackay and Charles Randolf – Best Adapted Screenplay (The Big Short) Emmanuel Lubezki – Best Cinematography (The Revenant) and Ennio Morricone - Best Musical Score ( The Hateful Eight). ‘The Revenant’ with 5 wins and ‘Mad Max Fury Road’ with 4 were the frontrunners.
