'Marudhanayagam' is the dream project of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and watching the magic unfurl in the silver screen has been the dream of Tamil movie buffs cutting across ages. The actor-director started shooting the film in 1990s and dropped it later due to finance constraints. Time and again talks about the film being revamped has hit the headlines but nothing has materialized till now.
In every interview, Kamal has faced a question about the possibilities of reviving the project and the multi-talented star has kept the hopes alive.
In his latest interview to a leading English daily Kamal revealed how much he has shot and how much needs to be shot to complete the film.
Kamal said that fortunately he has shot the first 30 minutes of 'Marudhanayagam' in chronological order till the point in the script where the title card says '12 years later.' These portions are completed and ready in his store. He has to start shooting from where he left
Once the shooting is restarted it will take one year to complete and the preparations for the same would take six to seven month, the veteran said.
However the 'Papanasam' star well known for his patience and commitment to his art, said the mammoth project is "possible" and the story is still relevant.
